HLC representative to present Open Forum on accreditation, January 28

All members of the NMSU community are invited to attend an Open Forum on our institutional accreditation, featuring Linnea Stenson of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). These events will be at 10:30 and 1:30 on Thursday, January 28 in Milton Hall, Room 50. Registration is not required.

NMSU will seek re-affirmation of our accreditation in 2017-18. Required to receive Title IV federal funding, accreditation is an inclusive process that incorporates elements of institutional self-reflection, continuous improvement and aspirational goals for student experiences and education. It includes all aspects of the institution – academic programs, operations and support services – and everyone has a role to play in achieving a successful accreditation review. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend.

An accreditation review team will visit the Las Cruces and Grants campuses on Nov. 13-14, 2017. The last reaffirmation of accreditation was completed in 2008. More information on accreditation is available at http://accreditation.nmsu.edu.
