Scope and Cycle

NMSU will conduct academic program review on a departmental basis.  This approach provides greater ability for a college and department to consider and evaluate the full scope of responsibilities and activities of a department, and to more fully consider opportunities for academic program improvement.

Academic departmental program review will be conducted on a seven-year cycle, with an annual data review for each department, to support the annual budget cycle and departmental planning efforts. The Arts and Sciences College should expect to review four departments each year, with consideration of rotation within the Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities and Fine Arts subdivisions.
