We Are NMSU – December 16, 2024

Dear colleagues,

Last weekend, we proudly celebrated the Fall 2024 graduation of 1,283 students from our main campus and 430 students from our branch campuses. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the University Student Records team for their dedication in making commencement ceremonies a success. Organizing graduation requires extensive collaboration across various offices, with significant contributions from faculty and staff. Additionally, numerous volunteers played a vital role in guiding, supporting, and welcoming students throughout the event.

The breakdown of our graduates by units is as follows:

We remain committed to aligning academic programs with state workforce demands, ensuring our graduates are prepared to meet the needs of our communities. This semester, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program stood out, graduating the highest number of students – 81 in total – in a field critical to addressing one of the state's highest workforce demands. Other programs, such as Psychology, Mechanical Engineering, and Business Administration (General Business and Marketing), also produced significant numbers of graduates, contributing to the workforce needs across New Mexico.

The success of our students, particularly the achievements of many first-generation graduates, brings immense pride and joy to the families, as well as to the NMSU faculty and staff.

Between the Phi Kappa Phi Initiations, Graduate Honors Cord ceremonies, and the celebration of women's athletics, it was a week filled with festivity an pride. Let us carry this spirit of celebration into the holiday season. Together, we are NMSU.
