Dear colleagues,

As I share my final message, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Interim Provost of New Mexico State University these last two years. It has been a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated and talented community of faculty, staff, students, and leaders who are deeply committed to advancing our mission.

Together, we have made meaningful progress in strengthening academic excellence and enhancing support for student success. I am proud of the collaboration across colleges, departments, and administrative units, which has helped move key initiatives forward and position NMSU for continued growth and impact. Our shared commitment to access, innovation, and opportunity reflects the very best of what defines NMSU.

I am confident that the Office of Academic Affairs will continue to build on this strong momentum. Starting May 1, Dr. James McAteer will serve as Acting Provost and Dr. Joseph Bull will assume the role of Provost on July 13. I will transition to the position of Executive Vice President and Provost at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, effective June 1. I remain committed to supporting a smooth transition and will be available to assist Drs. McAteer and Bull as needed during this period.

The sense of belonging within the close-knit NMSU community will remain with me always. Serving as Interim Provost has been a true honor, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to worked alongside of you.

I look forward to hearing about continued success of NMSU and the many accomplishments yet to come.
