International Travel Procedures

Updated April 19, 2024

ALL international travel forms must be submitted at least 20 days prior to travel. It is recommended that you do not purchase airfare until you have confirmation that your travel has been approved.

Travel forms submitted with less then 20 days prior to travel do not guarantee appropriate approval and insurance necessary for NMSU related international travel. Submitting forms early is strongly encouraged.

COVID-19 Travel Restrictions

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, some countries have implemented travel restrictions. Check the government websites and airline companies prior to traveling internationally — including all locations of connecting flights.

View an interactive map on travel restrictions from Sherpa.

Note:  The forms and pages linked below administratively implement NMSU’s Administrative Rules and Procedures (ARP), 14.6916.69 and 16.70 and NMSU’s Business Procedures Manual Rule 5c.
